Full of Thanks: Week 3

I fell behind, so I'll be a little more brief.

November 13 - November 19

13) Pictures: I love taking and looking at pictures. I'm grateful that we have the technology to capture special moments and are able to look back on them later. It's also neat to see pictures of ancestors I have never met and put a face to the name and stories I hear about.

14) Chocolate: Do I really need to explain myself? It's delicious. It makes me happy. It's the best medicine. (Yes, the picture below is me.)
15) Music: I love music. It can bring peace, happiness, and just plain fun to your life. It has such an emotional pull and life would be silent and boring without it. I am grateful to have been able to learn the piano and clarinet. I also enjoyed learning to play the xylophone, marimba, glockenspiel, vibraphone, and other "pit" instruments while in high school. And although I'm far from a soloist, I am thankful to have been blessed with a voice that knows how to sing in tune.
16) Games: I grew up in a family who always came together to play games - both card and board games as well as sports. We always have such a great time laughing and being competitive. I love how games bring out some people's "true" personalities. (Don't you love my badminton action shot?)
17) Internet: There are so many reasons to be thankful for the internet. There is so much information as the disposal of our fingertips. It's also a quick, easy way to send a letter (although nothing ever beats getting something in the mail) and communicate. I also love how we can easily share things with others. It can be a scary thing, but I hope that people learn to use it for the good that it can do.

18) Skype: This somewhat goes along with the internet, but I feel that it deserves its own category. Skype is so amazing. Even though I'm hundreds of miles away from family, we can still talk AND see each other whenever we want. I know this especially makes Olivia's grandparents happy to be able to see her growing and moving and talking.

19) Technology: This encompasses the first and last two things I said in this post, but it also includes much, much more. I am grateful for the brilliant minds out there who continue to invent and figure out how to make things work to make our lives easier. It's amazing to see what has come out just in the last 5-10 years. I'm not a very tech savvy person, but I give a huge thanks to those who are.

Sounds like we're grateful for many of the same thing, especially the chocolate. I love listening to music and am thrilled to have a DIL who can produce it. And technology...wow. All I can say is that I'm going to see about getting Skype on my Kindle Fire so that I won't have to use the laptop in the car anymore! That was fun, but the laptop is not quite as handy as the Kindle. And yes, that's a great action shot.

Make that "same things."

The first time I saw this the pictures never came up. They are classic. I love the badminton one!
