Utah Trip in Pictures & Blurbs Part I

Olivia and I flew out to Utah for 9 day to visit my parents who are on a Family History mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was really nervous about flying alone with Olivia, but I couldn't have asked for a better behaved baby. She slept half the time, then played with the people beside and behind us for the rest. She never cried once! Whew! She was pretty much the same way on the way home too. Yeah!

We did a lot in 9 days, so this would be a book if I gave all the details. I'll just share our experience in pictures (with a few words here and there).

Reading with Daddy in the airport before taking off
The flowers were beautiful around Temple Square! The pictures don't do it justice one bit.
Olivia also loved the flowers and even pulled some of the petals off...oops!
We posed outside the Salt Lake Temple
Olivia knocked on the temple doors
Liv had a special moment with Granddaddy and touched the walls of the temple
My dad put Olivia down to walk in the grass and she was NOT happy about that. I guess she thought it felt funny. Afterwards, she clung to us for dear life and wouldn't stop staring at the grass for fear we would put her down again.
We explored the Joseph Smith Memorial Building where Olivia had a blast running around
Liv "helped" Grandma with the laundry, then was rewarded with rides in the laundry basket
Apparently the rides didn't last long enough because she climbed in for more
We played at the Church History Museum
We had the most delicious frozen custard! It was so creamy and just plain yummy!
Saw the beautiful Bountiful temple
She had shoes on, so she didn't mind the grass this time
SLC Temple
Joseph Smith Memorial Building
Conference Center (Liv and I were obviously by ourselves in these few pictures because my parents were doing mission stuff.)
Staring up at the Christus statue. Such a sweet picture!
Ensign Peak
Olivia and Grandma Stalvey
Yeah...Dad and I look happy now...
Waving bye to Mom and Olivia
Dad getting his breath back after we decided it was crazy to start sprinting up the mountain
Worn out and resting on a log
We made it!
Mom and Olivia had fun playing at the bottom
Reunited and it feels so good!
Running out of time to post...more to come later!

Mother's Day, Nephew, & Dryer Escapades

I had my first "official" Mother's Day this year. Being a mom certainly is a tough job, but it's well worth it. I love my little girl with all my heart! I've been trying to clean out and replace my wardrobe, so Paul and Olivia got me 2 new shirts and a cardigan. Yeah!

I got a new nephew the day before Mother's day. His name is Lucas Robert Stalvey. He was born at 12:02am on May 7th and weighed 6lbs, 13oz. I can't wait to meet the little guy this upcoming weekend! Congrats to Matt and Heather! And congrats to Nathan on becoming a big brother :)

I usually try to post things in order as they happen, but I figured blogging about Olivia's and my trip to Utah would definitely need to be its own post. So I have skipped those 9 days for now. Don't worry, it will come within the next few days.

Olivia has always been fascinated by the dryer. When I put clothes in it, she will stand right in front of it looking in while I try to shove wet clothes by her little head so I can get them in the dryer. As of yesterday, her fascination went to the next level. I pulled some clothes out of the dryer and immediately went to the closet to hang Paul's shirts up so they wouldn't wrinkle. Meanwhile, I left the dryer door open because I was getting ready to transfer more clothes into them from the washer. As I made my way back to the dryer, I noticed Olivia was no longer standing in the hallway. Guess where I found her?

Yep! You guessed it. Inside the dryer!

My parents joked to me that she was her mother's daughter because I used to hide in the dryer when my siblings and I would play hide and seek in the house. Ha ha! She loved playing in the dryer so much that she decided to get inside it today as well...
That's my silly girl! She's going to be ONE on Sunday! Crazy!!!
